Magnetostrictive Materials Measuring System
The system is composed of an electromagnet, an electromagnet power supply, a fluxmeter, a gaussmeter, a strain gauge, a Helmholtz coil, an impedance tester, an audio frequency power supply, a data acquisition system, a pressure bag, a computer and a laser printer.
System Qualification
1. DC magnetic field classifies seven full-scale ranges which are 0.5 kOe, 1kOe, 2kOe, 4kOe, 8kOe, 16kOe and 32kOe, the highest resolution is up to 0.1Oe.
2. AC magnetic field range is 320 Oe, and its resolution is 0.01 Oe.
3. AC and DC strain classifies nine full-scale ranges which are 32000με, 16000με, 8000με, 4000.0με, 3200.0με, 1600.0με, 800.0με, 400.0με and 320.00με, and it’s the highest resolution is up to 0.01με.
4. DC magnetic flux range is 32.0 mWb, its the highest resolution is up to 0.001mWb.
5. The frequency of the audio frequency power supply can be continuously adjusted from 30Hz to 10kHz, and the maximum output power is 500W. It is used in conjunction with the impedance measurement unit, and the characteristic curve of the sample impedance with frequency can be gotten, and the incremental permeability μ33, piezomagnetic coefficient d33, elastic coefficient S33, and axial electromechanical coupling coefficient K33 etc. parameters can be calculated by the matching software.
6. The inner and external diameters of the Helmholtz coil are Ø50 and Ø115mm, respectively. And its inner and external separations are 14 and 66 mm, respectively. The magnetic field uniformity in the homogeneous space (Ø20 mm×20 mm) is up to ±1%. It is used in conjunction with the audio power supply, the peak magnetic field in the coil center is not less than 80Oe when the output frequency at 30Hz-1KHz; while the peak magnetic field is not less than 50Oe when the output frequency of 1.1kHz-10KHz.
7. The model SB-100 electromagnet is a dual yoke and dual adjustable air gap and its diameter of the polar face is Ø60mm. The magnetic field is more than 2.0kOe when its air gap is 100mm; while the magnetic field is more than 20kOe when its air gap is 10mm.
8. The input voltage of the electromagnet power supply is a three-phase and three-wire system, the line voltage is 380V, the maximum output DC voltage is 500V, the maximum output power is 2.0kW, and its output current stability is better than 5×10-3 when the output current is greater than half the maximum current.
